Pumpkin Patch Cake Balls – October 2014 Velata Recipe of the Month

Bring your Halloween party to life with these adorable cake balls that look just like pumpkins!

Heat Meltables in a Velata Fondue Warmer. Cut off any hard edges of cake and discard.

Cut cake into large pieces and crumble into a large mixing bowl. Add frosting and knead mixture until it reaches consistency of Play-Doh®.

Let rest for 5 minutes then shape dough into ping pong-sized balls. Using a craft stick, make 5 grooves around edge of cake balls and flatten slightly to resemble a pumpkin.

Using a fork, dip cake balls in warm, melted Meltables, letting excess drip away.

Transfer cake balls to a wax paper-lined baking sheet. While still wet, insert a curved, broken piece of pretzel (resembling a pumpkin stem) into the top of the cake ball.

Serve in mini cupcake holders.
